Solo Mio

Feeling good - this my first solo workout since I signed up for my trainer and I'm super pleased with my workout. I ran for 40 min on the treadmill, (a little over 3 miles) 15 min on the bike, did a lower body weight workout, and then did some ab work. I'm exhausted. I think I used up all the energy I had to give, now all I wanna do is take a nap. I can already tell that my body is starting its transformation. My first official trainer session is next week. Wohoo!

The Strength Test

Apparently before I'm hard core "training" they need to figure out where I am today so they have something to compare it to. Ok, sounds good. So I go and warm up and then get my measurements done (btw - my right thigh is bigger than my left, but my left calf is bigger than my right. I'm crooked). So away I go on my "strength" test. This includes pushups, seated bench press, how many squats I can do on one of those half stability ball dealy's, and how flexible I am. Again, I'm motivated to work even harder by more inspirational statements: "that's right, push it out" and "girl your fit. F.I.T.T." Notice the double T, that means I'm extra fit. Needless to say there wasn't much training involved in this session, but I look forward to my next workout on Saturday. My trainer man also invited himself to my HH this Friday which I thought was very nice of him, he even told me that its not a problem because he has his own car.

Phew!

Also - one more thing

For those of you reading this - there are two bloggies leaving updates, me and my friend Lisa. We both have the same goal so wanted to set up an inspirational blog to keep eachother motivated. Please leave comments for both!

Training Session #1 - going strong!

I had my first trainer session and he worked out my legs. They hurt, so it must've worked. I worked out to inspirational statements like "yeeeeaaahhhh, work it out girl, work it out." Trainer man said that for me to be in the shape I want to be in it'll take just a few months since I'm already in good shape to start out with. Just the words I wanted to hear! Then he asked if I was single and if I wanted to watch him play football sometime, and he gave me his personal cell phone number in case I had any "questions". Hmm....I no think so. So I signed up for some trainer sessions and I'm ready to roll. I am however getting a free training session out of it so I guess I can't complain.

My birthday bod is just around the corner, I can feel it! I have dedicated myself to working out, trying not to eat ALL day long, getting a full 8hrs of sleep (which means I need to get off the computer and hit the sack) and eating healthy!

Viva la fitness!

A Future Full of Fitness!

My name is Lisa and I'm 31 years old too. I've been out of shape for most of my life and have finally decided I don't want to waste what's left of my precious youth wishing I was in better shape. I'm actually going to do something about it!! Fancy that! I travel a lot, so, working fitness into my schedule has always been a challenge, but I'm determined to change all that over the next year and I have a plan... I'm joining a gym in a few days and I've already started watching what I eat. I plan to go to the gym at least 5 times per week, doing cardio each day and then lifting weights 3 times per week and eventually I want to graduate to running outdoors...but that's in the future. A future filled with a toned, fit body that's gonna give Scarlett Johannson a run for her money!

Operation Steel - the beginning

I am 31 years old and in contemplating my life, and goals I want to acheive I have decided that I need to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 32. Why when I'm 32 and not some other age? Well quite frankly this was my goal when I turned 30 but that didn't work out so now I'm shooting for 32. That said, I diligently started my workouts late January and started working out 3x's a week. It felt good to get back into the routine as I had recently changed jobs and was a little stressed. I soon started to see results. I peetered out to about 2x's a week in Feb and then went to Mexico where I consumed ungodly amounts of Mexican food (I can't help it, my people can cook and I love to eat!) and drink many many cervecas. I got home and found that in 5 days I gained 5lbs! I was very proud. Now I am back on the wagon and am working out 3-4 x's a week. I have a meeting with a personal trainer tonight and will go to my body pump class afterwards. I'm pumped!
Operation Steel is underway!

Measurements to follow to track progress.
